Tips for getting cosy at home

With winter often comes a count down to brighter, warmer spring days – but it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom. Winter can also be a time to embrace duvet coats, warm drinks, comfort food, and nights snuggled up indoors. And what better way to make the most of hibernation season, than to explore different ways to make your home cosy?

Warm and cosy blankets and throws

Get cosy with blankets & throws

Ideally, you want a cosy blanket in every room in the house... okay, maybe not the bathroom, but definitely the bedrooms and living areas! Or maybe just take your duvets to the sofa and get comfy watching your fave romantic comedy.

Grab a book or audio book

 Listen to an audio book

There’s nothing better than curling up on an armchair with a book in one hand and a cup of hot choc in the other. If you’re a bit busy, audio books are also great to de-stress whilst multi-tasking around the house.

Soft and twinkling lighting

 Crystal String Lights

Autumn and winter is a perfect time to dim the lighting at home, lots of twinkly fairy lights, lamps and of course good old daylight.  Try warm white bulbs or maybe retro-coloured lights, whatever you choose it adds the cosy feeling.

String lights add a wonderful bohemian vibe to any room. You can pretty much put them anywhere and not go wrong!

Crystal String Fairy Lights are a festive innovation combining the cosy ambience of Christmas lights with the positive energies of crystals.

Our Crystal String Lights come in 3 crystal options – you can choose from Rose Quartz, Amethyst or Rainbow, and are perfect for cosying up your home!

Warm clothing

Warm slippers

Whether you are inside or out, feeling warm and cosy can really lift your mood.  Especially with the crazy energy prices this winter, layering up your clothing is a ‘must do’!

Add life with indoor plants

Plants housed in pots, planters and baskets are in and of themselves very cosy and have the benefit of adding textural pops of interest to any room. Plants are cosy because they are living things.

Intimidated by living plants? Use faux greenery instead.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong if you prefer to decorate with fake plants and flowers. Don’t feel bad about it!

Candles galore!

Tuberose & Vanilla Candle

Having plenty of candles around your home gives it a sense of warmth. Put a couple candles in each room and people will feel a sense of comfort no matter where they are in your home. Plus, your home will smell great, too!

Chic&Raw’s candles create a warm and relaxing ambience and come in a variety of fragrances. Our Cinnamon, orange & clove candle create a festive home fragrance, perfect for Christmas or winter evenings.

 Cinnamon, Orange & Clove Candle

Another favourite during the winter months is the tuberose & vanilla candle. Scented with natural, tuberose & vanilla essential oils and had floral, sweet top notes, warming base notes. We love it, and you will too!

Warm up your space with rugs

Hardwood and laminate flooring are great but can get chilly under your feet in the cooler seasons. The same goes for tile.

By placing layers between yourself and the floor, you will be guaranteed to feel instantly warmer and cosier. There is not a single place in the house that does not benefit from having a beautiful rug.
