How to Achieve the Spa Look in Your Home Bathroom
by Binanti Cuzner
A trip to the spa is always nice, you feel pampered and relaxed. But it can be expensive to go all the time. So, one of the best ways you can treat yourself more often is to recreate the spa look and feel in your home bathroom. There are some simple things that you can do to achieve this. We take you through them.
Bring in Some Greenery
One of the best things you can do to make your bathroom feel spa-like is to bring the outside in. If you get several plants, particularly those like eucalyptus that give off a fresh scent then this will make your bathroom feel spa-like. Bringing life to your bathroom helps to create the perfect relaxing spa environment.
Hang a Chic Shower Curtain
Changing the shower curtain in your bathroom is one of the most dramatic ways you can transform your bathroom. So, get something that is sophisticated and minimalist to replicate that spa feel in your home. A shower curtain takes up a huge amount of visual space in your bathroom, so you need to make sure it works for you.
Use Candles Liberally
Make sure you have plenty of candles in your bathroom. These are perfect for when you are taking an evening bath. You can switch off the bathroom light and bathe by the soft glow of the candlelight. Make sure that you get some with some nice relaxing scents, such as lavender, or chamomile. You could also go for some crystal embedded candles that will release their healing energies whilst you bathe and make you feel on top of the world. Much as you would at a spa day.
Use a Small Stool to Hold Towels
This is a trick to take away from a spa. Use a small wooden stool placed next to the bath and place a stack of towels on it. This will give the feel of an expensive and luxurious spa in your home with ease. With the plus side that if you ever need another towel whilst you are relaxing in the bath then they are within easy reach.
Choose a Bamboo Bathmat
A fabric bathmat has the tendency to become wet and mouldy over time. Therefore, switch it out with a bamboo bathmat. This slatted bathmat will make your bathroom feel zen and peaceful. This also has a great bonus that it will dry out quickly. Which means that there are no more wet socks when you go in the bathroom after someone has showered.
Add Some Art
Spa’s are all about creating a feast for the senses, so you have the smells covered with the scented candles, why not add an art piece. If you have something that is visually stimulating, then this will help create a total atmosphere for you and you will really feel like you are in a spa.
With a few tweaks and changes you can easily create a spa feel in your own home, these are just some ideas to get you started.
